BTS "ARMY Bomb" Official Lightstick [Review/Unboxing]
11:38 PM
Wow! It has certainly been a while since my last post. Spring quarter has been a little more hectic than what I had originally imagined, thus preventing me from making any posts. Though I've been away and unable to post any reviews & unboxings, it does not mean that I haven't been making purchases.
For today's post, I shall be reviewing & unboxing Bangtan's official lightstick, the "ARMY Bomb"! I purchased mine during pre-order period (late March up to April 23rd) via Kpoptown for about $24 USD (shipping not included). It was shipped out to me on April 24th and arrived exactly two weeks later.
Unlike Infinite who has various official lightstick designs released through different events such as fanclub registration, Second Invasion (Japan), That Summer Concert 2, and so on, Bangtan released the "ARMY Bomb" as their first official lightstick. Hopefully this will be the one and only lightstick for their fandom because personally, I prefer one solid design compared to Infinite's different lightsticks. Here are some shots of the bomb itself!
The front design and top view of the box.
The lightstick opened up! It came secured in a little paper and foam stand to prevent it from shifting around inside the box during shipment. A+ packaging for you BigHit.
The top portion of the lightstick, or the "bomb" is made out of durable plastic. Most parts are of a clear, see through plastic while other parts are of a textured almost "frosted" plastic.
Inside of the bomb, there are mini little plastic "pellets." Though I'm not too quite sure or understand the purpose of including these, but I'm going to take a wild guess that it just adds an extra fun (or obnoxious) noise when the lightstick's being swing back and forth at a concert.
There are two raised circle designs on both sides of the handle. They both have different prints on them. (1st side)
Other side of the handle. Once again, the handle is also made of a very durable plastic. It feels really nice to hold! As you can also see in the photos, there are two screws on either sides of the top part of the handle. To change batteries when the ones that are already included runs out, you will have to unscrew the handle and the bomb loose, then pull the two pieces from each other to detach it, reaching the battery compartment. (2nd side)
A close up view of the bottom of the lightstick. There is a button in the center that you have to click in order to turn it on. There are three click sequences to different light options and to turn it on/off. First click: to turn it on. Second click: once the bomb has be "lit", the next click will allow it to flicker whereas the first click will only light it up. Third click: to turn it off.
The "fuse" to the ARMY Bomb! So cute~ (A Note of Caution: please be extra careful when it comes to taking care of the fuse. Once it is damaged, it can affect the whole lightstick's overall performance.)

A light dust bag is also included to keep your bomb clean and safe! (oh the irony of that statement)
Instructions! Σʕ゚ᴥ゚ノʔノ
The ARMY bomb shining brilliantly in the dark!
Overall, this is (unlike) other previous reviews & unboxings, I do believe that every Bangtan fans should own one of these lightsticks themselves. Whether you will be attending one of their "The Red Bullet" concerts, it is a very nice merchandise to have and display if you are a collector. The quality of BigHit's merchandise are 90% of the time very high quality, very worth every penny spent in my humble opinion. I am very thoroughly satisfied and happy that I was able to grab myself an ARMY bomb. These went out of stock during pre-order period but a couple of days ago, BTSOfficial shop had announced via Twitter that they've been restocked! Go on ARMYS, grab yourself a bomb today! Like always, thank you for visiting my blog and reading up to this point! See you next time (^-:

hello! i just received my bts lightstick and i'm having problems trying to unscrew the handle and the bomb to put in new batteries. how do you do this?
ReplyDeletemine doesn't have any screws. is it defective? i bought it at a kpop store, should i return it for another one?
ReplyDeleteI had previously replied to you but since I was renovating my blog, my reply was deleted so I'm just going to reply once again for future references of anyone else coming across this blog post. I pre-ordered mine when the lightstick was first originally announced so the one I got was part of the first batch that was dispatched. It ALREADY came with AAA batteries already included! It wasn't until later on that some lightsticks no longer came with batteries due to international shipping regulations. to insert batteries, all you have to do is unscrew the small screws on the neck of the lightstick's handle, twist the bomb off, then insert new batteries.
Deleteah nevermind i finally got it! thank you very much though for responding!!
ReplyDeleteHi would like to ask, what is the purpose of the fuse on the army bomb? How does it affect the performance of the whole lightstick if its damage?
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, my apologies for the late reply. But to answer your question, what I meant by the overall performance of the lightstick is that the fuse will no longer light up and the purpose of the lightstick is to have the round (white ball part) AND the little red fuse to both light up when it is activated. It can only be fixed if you buy new replacement fuses that was offered for sale. The instruction booklet specifically stated that any harsh handling of the fuse can easily damage it, affecting the lightstick 100% performance. The white bomb will still work of course, but not as it should/meant to since the fuse should also light up.
DeleteI have the same question as Ms. Nur Tan, the fuse of my light stick took off during the concert and now the light stick only lights up when i take the round bomb part off, it wont light up when i attach it onto the stick. Is there a way I can fix this? If i buy an extra fuse, will it work again? How do i put the fuse?
ReplyDeleteThe little mini instructions booklet the lightstick comes with says "Please be careful not to pull out or any impact on the fuse shape of the product, it will be damaged" can presumably be interpreted as if you put force on it, the fuse itself will be permanently damaged, not the round bomb/the rest of the lightstick. you can fix the fuse specifically if you buy a new pack of fuse. the fuse that came off your lightstick during the concert is probably not fixable, so it can be replaced by a new fuse.
Deletecan it use another brand battery??
ReplyDeleteit doesn't matter what brand of battery you use, as long as they are three AAA batteries.
